Surf warehouse sales: O’Neill, Hurley and RVCA coming up

There’s a few surf companies holding warehouse sales this week, where you can score some really sweet deals on stuff for the holidays (or yourself, of course). Here’s the latest:

Hurley extended its sale and will continue offering 50 to 70 percent off at its Irvine warehouse starting Wednesday through the weekend. I stopped in last weekend and shot these photos of what people can expect to find. There were really good deals - T-shirts for $10, wetsuits for $10, hoodies for $25, etc.

So if you want to check it out, the sale doors open about noon and close at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Saturday it runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

O’Neill Lost Rusty Metal Mulisha Warehouse Sale:

This one kicks off at 11 a.m. on Thursday and runs to about 7 p.m. at the O’Neill/Lost headquarters in Irvine.   Same hours on Friday, doors open at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and closes about 5 p.m.

Huge deals at Hurley holiday sale

“What size are you?” I ask the guy standing next to me, holding up a pair of boardshorts to his 6-foot-something frame.

Technically, I was supposed to be working. But I couldn’t help but put my notebook and camera away and grab a handful of clothes for friends and loved ones while at the Hurley Warehouse Holiday Sale this afternoon.

Wetsuits for $100, boardshorts for $20, jeans down from $68 to $30, T-shirts for $10. Hundreds of boxes of stuff filling the Irvine warehouse. Let the holiday shopping begin!

I went through the warehouse to snap some shots to give readers an idea of what’s being offered at the big sale, in case you want to go Saturday and get some early shopping done for the holidays.

Hurley and Sole Tech warehouse sales this weekend

If you’re looking to do some early shopping for the holidays - or want to pick up some gear for yourself - check out these two warehouse sales coming up this weekend.

The first is Hurley’s Holiday Warehouse Salethat starts on Thursday at noon and runs through the weekend. The sale - which is open to the public - will have jackets, fleece, boardshorts and more for 50 to 70 percent off.

The address is 2323 Main St. in Irvine, CA.  (corner of Main and Von Karman). They accept credit cards, but not checks. Here’s more info.

holiday09warehousesaleIf you’re looking for more skate/snow gear, check out the Sole Tech sale happening down in Lake Forest in the warehouse behind the company store. Sole Tech is the umbrella company for brands like Etnies, Altamont and thirtytwo.

That sale goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.  Cash and credit excepted.

Vintage surf swap meet

old-boardsIf you like to collect old surfboards and surf memorabilia then this is an event you’ll definitely want to check out this weekend. 

The Longboard Collector Club will be having a big surf swap meet in Seal Beach this Saturday where you can buy, sell or trade old surf stuff.

There will be a large display of vintage surfboards, skateboards, bellyboards, posters, surf flicks, books, clothing and anything else surf related.

If you’ve never been to one of these events, it’s really cool to see some of the old retro surf goods that people show up with.

“Surf Story” by Rob Havassy

surf-storyOne well known Southern California surf artist is getting creative once again.  This time Newport Beach’s Rob Havassy is about ready to release a new book called “Surf Story.”

The 444 page book is a huge collection of art and stories from 88 of the surf world’s most influential and creative artists, writers, photographers and iconic figures.

“Surf Story” is scheduled for delivery this fall, but 1000 Collector’s First Edition signed and numbered copies are available now.

There’s a special pre-release price of $150 for the first 500 copies or until September 15th after which it will be $250 each.

HSS back to school sale

Well I don’t like to bring up depressing news, but summer vacation is coming to a close.  Yep, in a few weeks from now it’ll be time to crack the books once again.  So here’s some happy news for all of you going back to school.

Huntington Surf and Sport is holding its huge annual back to school sidewalk sale this coming weekend.  All of their apparel will be discounted 20% to 50% off in all four HSS stores.
