It seems that Volcom has its hands in everything when it comes to surfing, skating and snowboarding, but the big clothing brand has yet to ever sponsor an ASP-sanctioned professional surf contest until now. 

Just recently the apparel giant announced that it will be the presenting sponsor of an event at one of the worlds most famous waves.

The Volcom Pipeline Pro is a ASP WQS competition that will take place on the North Shore of Oahu.  The 5-star event will kick off next years ASP World Qualifying Series in January.

The $120,000 Volcom Pipeline Pro is offering $16,000 for the winner of the first time event. 

This contest will also be a great opportunity for surfers to gather important points for a chance to qualify for the ASP World Championship Tour.  For more info. check out volcom.com.
