NSSA contests at the HB Pier and 9th Street today

nssaThe National Scholastic Surfing Association will be happening on the southside of the Huntington Beach Pier today.

This is the fourth stop of the NSSA Southwest Conference Explorer Season  schedule.  The two day competition started on Saturday with several amateur surfers from the southland battling it out in the chest to head high surf.

Today several divisions will take to the water including: Mens, Longboard, Womens, Juniors, Menehune, Seniors, Boys, Girls, Masters, Super Seniors and Duke.

Meanwhile, the best colleges from up and down the California coast will be competing just a little north of the Huntington Beach Pier at  9th street

This is the second stop of the NSSA California College Team Season schedule.  Some of the top universities competing include: Long Beach State, San Diego State, UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbara and UC San Diego.  For more info. and heat times, check out nssa.org. 

When: Sunday, November 8th 7 a.m to 5 p.m

Where: Southside of the HB Pier and 9th street north of the pier
