If you happen to be heading down south for a surf this weekend and you’re going to be near Carlsbad, stop by and check out the Western Surfing Association surf contest.

The third stop of the 2009/2010 WSA Surf Series takes place at Ponto in South Carlsbad.  Several amateur surfers from the southland will be competing in the two-day event.

The divisions include:Legends, Senior Men’s, Men’s, Masters, Women’s, Longboard, Micro Grom, Boys and Girls. 

The surfers hit the water each day at 7 a.m with the event wrapping up about 5 p.m.  For more info. and heat times, check out surfwsa.org.
