We all know if you surf on a regular basis that you become a pretty stronger paddler, but can you imagine what it would be like trying to paddle 32 miles across the open ocean?
That’s what a handful of amazing athletes will be trying to conquer in a little over a week at the annual Catalina Classic Paddleboard Race.
Unfortunately, if you think you have what it takes, not just anybody can take part in this prestigious event.
There are a few requirements to enter the Catalina Classic paddleboard race. The paddler must have completed last years race by the 9 hour cut-off time or competed in another notable paddleboard competition with a solid standing.
Last years Catalina Classic winner Chad Carvin completed the grueling 32- mile race in 5 hours and four minutes.
When: Sunday August 30, 2009

Sheesh!! I can barely paddle from the pier to tower 2 at Seal Beach!
