Courtney Conlogue was just knocked out of the semifinals, with defending Juniors champ Coco Ho and defending women’s champ Malia Manuel advancing to next Saturday’s finals.
Manuel blocked Conlogue as she was fighting to get needed points as the clock wound down.
“It was a fight,” Manuel said. “I didn’t want her to get a wave … everything went well, I’m happy to be here.”
When Ho heard that Manuel scored 9 points on a wave, she knew she had to step it up.
“I knew I just had to go for gold,” she said.
Conlogue will compete in the women’s competition, which kicks off Wednesday. Click here for a full schedule.
The Nike 6.0 Pro Juniors Women contest has a purse of $2,500.
