
A public paddle out for surf industry icon Dick Baker has been announced, a recognition to SIMA’s president who passed away last month.
Baker died after a two-year battle with cancer. Click here to read more about the former CEO of Ocean Pacific, who was loved by many in the surf world.
There will be a traditional paddle out as well as a Circle Service on the beach at the same time. Services will be led by Pastor Tod Bolsinger and a friend of the Baker family, Justin Monson.
Following the service, guests are free to surf Doheny, picnic on the beach and in the large, shaded picnic area reserved for the Dick Baker Paddle Out. Festivities will continue until the sun sets.
