Saturday surf report: Crumbly broken up lines

April 4th, 2009, 7:10 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Saturday morning surf addicts.  Well it’s looking kinda fun out there.  We’re seeing some texture on the water due to the very light southeast wind.  Lets hope it lays down!!

We’ve got mostly a decent amount of northwest windswell and a touch of southwest energy in the water.  That recipe is making for some crumbly broken up lines, but the shoulders are pretty short.

Most OC beaches are running about knee to stomach high with the focal points pulling chest high waves with maybe a plus set if you’re lucky.

At 5:42 early this morning the tide climbed up to a 4.9 high which will have some spots pretty full throughout the morning.  It then drains out to a negative 0.5 low at 12:50 this afternoon.

If you’re gonna get wet, break out no more than a 4/3 fullsuit with the water temp at most spots hanging between 57 and 58 degrees.

Have fun!!
