Wednesday surf report: Lumpy and bumpy

April 1st, 2009, 7:27 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday.  Well there’s a decent dose of action out there, but we’re dealing with a light to moderate south southeast wind.  That’s putting some bump or light chop on it at many breaks.

We’ve got a mix of some southwest swell and a little northwest windswell in the water.  That’s giving us some sorta lumpy and bumpy broken up lines with a few fun ones.  Most OC beaches are running about knee to stomach high with the focal points pulling chest high waves with maybe a plus set.

At 9:26 this morning the tide drops to a 0 foot low which will have some spots pretty drained out and needing water mid morning.  The tide then pushes back up to a 2.9 high at 5:18 this evening.

If you’re gonna grab a session, throw on no more than a 4/3 fullsuit with the water temp at most spots hanging between 57 and 59 degrees.

Good luck out there!!
