Surfline: Conditions clean up at end of the week

Surfline forecaster David Sellin tells us what the conditions will be like for the rest of the week:

Orange county beaches will see fun size mix of swells through the end of the work week. Back-to-back Northwest to west-northwest swells will mix with a small dose of southwest swell for peaky surf at the better beachbreaks.

On Wednesday, most spots will be in the 3-4 foot plus range (waist-shoulder high) with some larger sets at the best breaks. On Thursday the mix of Northwest and Southwest swells will be a touch

smaller but still expect some fun size surf in the 4’ range (chest high) on the best sets at the top spots. Furthermore, the better exposed beachbreaks should see nice, peaky shape of the combination of swells. Friday and into the weekend could see another pick up in size, depending on the development of an impending Northwest winter storm.

In terms of weather; conditions will clean up with more stable weather through the middle to end of the week. An area of high pressure will be located inland as another winter storm is due to approach the region and stall just off the coast. Under this scenario conditions look to be pretty favorable with offshore flow in the mornings and a light to moderate+ onshore flow each afternoon.

Overall conditions will greatly depend on the approach and development of these winter storms, so be sure to check out Surfline.com for all the latest updates.
