Surf Report 1-10-09

January 10th, 2009, 8:08 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Saturday morning surf surfers.  We’ll we’ve got great conditions, but not much swell.  Yep there’s a light to moderate offshore wind with a minor amount of west northwest energy in the water.

That recipe is making for some weak crumbly lines with a few fun ones.  You might want to break out a log or fat fish.  Most OC beaches are running about knee to waist high with the top spots pulling a few stomach high sets.

At 7:47 a.m the tide climbed up to a seven foot high which isn’t helping things either.  Many spots are swamped and turned off right now.  You’re best bet once that tide turns around and eventually drains out to a negative 1.9 low at 3:06 this afternoon.

If you’re gonna get wet throw on the 4/3 fullsuit and the booties with the water temp at most spots hanging between 54 and 56 degrees.

Good luck out there!!
