Surf company headquarters burglarized

January 2nd, 2009, 9:02 am · 1 Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Top-secret clothing samples were stolen from Rusty North America’s Headquarters in Irvine over Christmas break, including the Ecostretch Hybrid boardshorts and many of their 2009 fall and holiday samples.

Irvine Police Lt. Rick Handfield said the burglars entered the office sometime between Dec. 24 and Dec. 29 by breaking and removing glass from one side of the building.

The burglars didn’t take any of the company’s computers, tv’s, digital photography equipment, or valuable surfboards.  Handfield said the estimated loss from the stolen garments was $2,100.

Police have several fingerprints on file. Stay tuned for more info.

They stole exactly what they were looking for. Easy to find out who did it. Just look for the company who releases a new clothing line looking just like the one that was stolen.
