I waited as long as I could before I dunked my head in the chilly water.

As soon as I went under, my body went numb and chills shot through my entire body.

A few friends and I went out to Huntington Beach on New Year’s Day to take the plunge during the Lion’s Surf City Splash. We weren’t alone - more than 100 others showed up to wash off 2008, and start with a fresh dunk for the New Year.
