No one aboard sinking boat, coast guard says

A U.S. Coast guard official said this afternoon that no one was aboard a sinking boat found eight miles off of Newport Harbor this morning.

Investigators found witnesses, who said they saw no one on the boat as it was slipping beneath the Pacific Ocean’s surface, Stephanie Young, a Coast Guard spokeswoman.
