Surf Report 10-22-08

October 22nd, 2008, 7:19 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday.  Well there’s a pretty good dose of surf out there, but we’re dealing with some pretty dense fog parked along the beach.  It looks like you’re gonna have to paddle out to see what’s happening.

It’s mostly clean and glassy with a combination of mostly south southwest swell and some very minimal northwest windswell.  That recipe is making for some fast sectiony lines with some good ones to grab.

Most OC beaches are running about knee to stomach high with the top combo breaks pulling chest to shoulder high waves with some occasional head high sets.

At 6:16 a.m the tide climbed up to a 4.4 high which will have some spots a little full early on.  The tide then drops to a 2.8 low at 11:21 later this morning and then pushes up again to a five foot high at 4:58 this afternoon.

If you’re gonna grab a session before work, throw on the 3/2 fullsuit with the water temp at most breaks hanging between 58 and 61 degrees.
