It’s almost that time of year when one of the World’s most famous stretch of coastline will be turning on.  In about six weeks Oahu’s Northshore will be invaded by hundreds of pro surfers from around the globe ready to test their big wave skills.  And that’s when the prestigious Vans Triple Crown of Surfing contest series gets underway.  The five Association of Surfing Professional competitions take place at Haleiwa, Sunset Beach and the Banzai Pipeline.  The first stop is the Reef Hawaiin Pro at Haleiwa which is a men’s and women’s ASP World Qualifying Series 6-Star event.  That runs November 12th-23rd.  This years Vans Triple Crown of Surfing prize purse is $815,000 which is the largest cash purse in the Series history.  For more info. check out triplecrownofsurfing.com.
