Amateur surfers from across the southland are gearing up for the third stop of the 2008/2009 Western Surfing Association Hobie Championship Tour.  This weekends two day competition happens at Ponto in South Carlsbad.  The WSA events always bring out tons of top amateur talent from California.  On Saturday October 4th the Open and 18 and over divisions will paddle out while the under 18 divisions will take to the water on Sunday October 5th.  Memberships are $90 for the year and include a competition t-shirt, waxcomb, Transworld Surf and Water Magazine subscriptions, plus a free Surfline Premium Membership.  For more info. check out westernsurfingassociation.org.
