Surf Industry Giants Donate to Operation Amped

September 22nd, 2008, 5:38 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

A few months back I wrote about a non-profit organization called Operation Amped.  If you didn’t get a chance to read the post, it’s a group that teaches surf lessons to wounded veterans who have returned from military service.  Just recently Billabong and Quiksilver donated over 50 wetsuits from their surf schools to help Operation Amped raise some funds.  Besides the wetsuits, the two surf industry giants also donated a couple dozen rash guards, booties, hoods and other accessories.  The wetsuits will now be sold between $100 and $150 in order to purchase more soft surfboards, a banner and a new website for the organization.  If you’re in the market for a wetsuit or need some accessories, you can contact, thebenmalibu@gmail.com.
