The AVP Croc Cup Shootout Manhattan Beach is beach volleyball’s most storied event. Olympic gold only adds to it this week.
If you want to make the drive up to the South Bay, it’s the only remaining chance you’ll get to see women’s gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh, as well as men’s gold medalists Phil Daulhausser and Todd Rogers.
It’s the last regular season event of the year and will also feature a one million dollar prize purse, the in beach volleyball history.
The women’s final is 2:30 p.m. Saturday and the men’s final 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $37-$80. To get tickets or more information, click here.
Should be a great weekend for the long awaited Manhattan Beach AVP Open. For those catching the action on Saturday morning, plan on stopping by the “VB Superstore” in nearby Lawndale where I’ll be signing copies of my new book “Order On The Court” that digs deep into the controversial pro beach volleyball scene with all its struggles and successes.
