Surf Report 9-14-08

September 14th, 2008, 8:09 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Sunday morning surf addicts.  Well it’s looking pretty fair and it’s continuing to slowly fade.  Overall it’s on the inconsistent side and there’s still not much shape.  It’s fairly clean, but some breaks are seeing a light texture on it.

We’ve got mainly minor to decent south southwest swell in the water.  That recipe is making for some semi-wally kinda crumbly lines, with a few rippable corners to pick off.

Most OC beaches are running about knee to stomach high with the top south facing breaks pulling chest high waves with some shoulder high sets.

At 9:28 a.m the tide climbs up to a 5.1 high which will have many spots swamped mid morning.  The tide then drops to a 1.1 low at 3:15 this afternoon.

If you’re gonna get wet, break out a thin full or at least short sleever for that a.m session with the water temp cooling off a bit and hanging between 64 and 67 degees.

Good luck out there!!
