The first semi-final is set after Bede Durbidge and Kelly Slater took their respective quarterfinal heats.

It’s a rematch of the 2006 final when Durbidge beat the top three surfers in the world on his way to victory.

Both quarters were duels, and Slater’s quarter against Bobby Martinez had both surfers getting barreled.
