Surf Report 9-6-08

September 6th, 2008, 7:45 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Saturday morning surf addicts.  Well if you’ve been locked in the cubicle all week, go grab some of the leftover action.  Yep there’s still a decent amount of swell out there.

It’s mostly clean, but some spots are already seeing some texture on it due to the minor northwest wind.  We’ve got continued fading south southwest swell in the water.  That recipe is making for some kinda crumbly semi-wally lines with a few fun makeable ones.

Most OC beaches are running about knee to chest high with the top south facing spots pulling shoulder high waves with a few head high plus sets.

And it’s kind of a weird day for the tides.  It slowly climbs up all morning and early afternoon eventually hitting a 4.7 high at 1:41 this afternoon and then drops to a 1.4 low at 10:33 later this evening.

If you’re gonna grab a session, break out a thin full or a short sleeve fullsuit for at least that morning surf with the water temp dipping down again and hanging between 64 and 67 degrees.

Have fun out there!!
