Surf Report 9-5-08

September 5th, 2008, 6:57 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Friday morning surf addicts.  Well she’s losing steam, but you can still find plenty of playful waves.  It’s mostly clean, but some spots are seeing a texture on it due to the light north wind.

We’ve got a mix of fading south southeast swell and some south southwest energy.  That recipe is making for some pretty wally lines, with a few fun makeable corners.  Most OC beaches are running about waist to chest high with the top south facing breaks pulling shoulder high waves with some head high plus sets.

At 6:02 a.m the tide dropped to a 2.4 low and then climbs back up to a five foot high at 12:53 this afternoon.  If you’re gonna get wet, well that water temp has taken another dip, so break out a thin full or a short sleever with it hanging between 64 and 67 degrees.

Good luck out there!!
