Surf Report 9-3-08

September 3rd, 2008, 6:52 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday.  Well we’ve got plenty of surf, but there’s not much shape especially at those top south facing spots.

It’s mostly clean with a mix of a good amount of south southeast swell and some south southwest energy.  That recipe is making for some fast drained out wally lefthanders with the occasional makeable corner and a few against the grain rights.

Most OC beaches are running about chest to shoulder high with the top south facing breaks pulling head high waves with a few inconsistent overhead sets.

At 5:29 a.m the tide dropped to a 1.3 low which will have many spots hurtin for water early on.  The tide then climbs up to a 5.4 high at 11:50 later this morning and then drops again to a one foot low at 6:30 this evening.

If you’re gonna grab some of the action throw on a spring suit or even a pair of trunks with that water temp at most spots hanging between 69 and 71 degrees.
