Surf Report 8-21-08

August 21st, 2008, 6:52 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Thursday morning surfers.  Well you better get used to the small stuff for now.  Yep she just can’t seem to wake up.  It’s mostly clean with a continued mix of minimal northwest energy and a touch of some southwest swell.

That’s giving us some fairly weak sectiony lines, with a few fun ones if you’re on a fish or a log.  Most OC beaches are running about knee to waist high with the top spots pulling some stomach high waves, with maybe a few plus sets.

At 6:08 a.m the tide dropped to a 1.3 low which will have many breaks needing water early on.  The tide then climbs up to a 5.5 high at 12:42 this afternoon.

If you’re planning on paddling, break out a shortsleeve full with the water temp at most spots hanging between 64 and 67 degrees.
