The hottest male and female amateur surfers from all over the country are gathered in Huntington Beach this week for the 2008 Surf Industry Manufacturers Association SIMA Surfing America USA Championships presented by PacSun.  The event brings together the best talent from several competitive surfing organizations, including the National Scholastic Surfing Association or NSSA, The Eastern Surfing Association or ESA, Hawaii Surfing Association or HSA and the Western Surfing Association or WSA.  Some of the notable names likely to standout at this prestigious competition include current USA Surf Team members Kolohe Andino from San Clemente and Newport Beach’s Andrew Doheny.  The Surfing America USA Championships will wrap-up with the announcement of the new 2008/2009 PacSun USA Surf Team.  The action takes place on the southside of the HB Pier today through Sunday August 24th.  For more info. or to watch the live webcast, go to SurfingAmerica.org.
