Surf Report 8-19-08

August 19th, 2008, 6:55 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Tuesday morning surfers.  Well if you’re a small wave addict then go get it, otherwise forget about it.  Yep it’s still stuck in small mode up and down the coast.

It’s clean and glassy with a mix of some minor south southwest swell and a touch of northwest windswell.  That recipe is making for some kinda drained out sectiony lines with a few workable ones.

Most OC beaches are running about knee to waist high with the top south facing spots pulling stomach high waves, with maybe a plus set if you’re lucky.

At 5:16 a.m the tide dropped to a 0.3 low which has many spots lacking water early on.  Things should improve once that tide fills in a bit and eventually pushes up to a 5.1 high at 11:35 later this morning and then drops again to a 1.3 low at 5:32 this evening.

If you’re gonna grab a session, well that water temp has taken a decent dip so break out at least a thin fullsuit with it hanging between 62 and 65 degrees.

Good luck out there!!
