Online Vintage Surf Auction

August 18th, 2008, 5:23 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

The first of its kind online vintage surfboard auction proved to be a total success. 570 bidders from around the world made this the biggest Vintage Surf auction ever. Some of the most rare surfboards and surf memorabilia ever to hit the auction block brought in nearly $600,000. Besides the record number of bidders, records were also set in both wood and foam surfboards as well as many other vintage surf collectibles. A mint wooden Tom Blake “Hawaiian Surfboard” sold for $32,000, while a foam 1960’s era Greg Noll-Micky Dora ‘Da Cat’ sold for $19,000. For more info. check out usvintagesurfauction.com.
