Olympics: May-Treanor/Walsh reach gold medal match

August 18th, 2008, 11:18 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Shawn Price

Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh head back to the gold medal match after rolling over Brazil’s Renata Ribeiro and Talita Antunes 21-12, 21-14.

The victory gave the amazing duo their 107th win in a row and guarantees them at least a silver medal in Beijing. The last time May-Treanor/Walsh lost a match was a year ago and have been the world’s best beach volleyball teams since at least the last Olympics.

“We just beat a good Brazilian team and we’re facing China in the final,” an excited Walsh told NBC after the match.

The gold medal match is Thursday at 11 p.m.
