Presidential candidate Barack Obama apparently has some ocean experience. 

The U.S. Senator was vacationing in Hawaii this week with his family and was spotted body surfing at the famed Sandy Beach. 

Obama was photographed shaking hands with some of the local bodyboarders, catching a few waves and paying homage to his late mother whose ashes were scattered off East Oahu. 

The Democrat spent plenty of time in the water at Sandy Beach during his teenage years while growing up in Honolulu.
