Miss that hurricane swell last week? Check out these photos (includes rare break “the Point”)

Thanks to Diane Edmonds of eppicsurf.com for hooking us up with these photos of last week’s south swell in Newport Beach that came courtesy of Hurricane Fausto.

Then, there was 54th street…

But the big talker was The Point in Newport, which only breaks during a hurricane swell… and apparently hasn’t seen any good waves for 2 years! Here’s what she said about it:

“This was the most intense photo shoot I’ve ever done.   There were three guys out who I was trying to keep an eye on, but with such a short interval swell, it was breaking every few seconds.   Everyone was throwing spray and doing aerial tricks so it was hard to try not to miss anyone putting on a show.”
