
Big thanks to Rockin’ Fig Fignetti for helping me out with a TV segment for KDOC that gives us a glimpse into what the U.S. Open of Surfing is all about.
Fig tells us about the surfing, a bit about the crowds, and the extras during the event like the freestyle motorcross and Soul Bowl for skaters. Nearly 400,000 people show up for the event, he said.
“Everyone knows the big guns are in town, they want to see the action,” said Fig, announcer for the contest.
Surf Junkie Jeff also gives us a look at the surf forecast on the segment, with most OC breaks giving waist-to- shoulder set waves, he said.
