Surf Report 7-5-08

July 5th, 2008, 10:09 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Saturday morning surf addicts.  Well it’s looking pretty playful out there.  It’s mostly clean with some spots seeing a little texture on it.  We’ve got a mix of some minor northwest windswell and some small scale southwest energy.

That recipe is making for some fast broken up lines with a few good steep corners.  Most OC beaches are running about knee to waist high with the top combo breaks pulling stomach to chest high waves with maybe an occasional plus set.

At 5:58 a.m the tide dropped to a negative 1.3 low which still has some spots lacking water.  The tide then climbs up to a 4.4 high at 12:34 this afternoon.  If you’re gonna get wet, throw on a short sleeve full with the water temp at most spots hanging between 62 and 65 degrees.

Get out there and enjoy!!
