Surf Report 7-2-08

July 2nd, 2008, 6:55 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Waking up with the waves on Wednesday.  Well it’s looking kinda fun, considering there’s not much size out there.  It’s fairly clean, but some spots are seeing a little morning sickness with a light texture on it.

As far as the waves go, we’ve got a combo of some small scale northwest windswell and a little leftover south southwest energy.  That’s making for some fast drained out pretty peaky lines with a few fun wedgy corners.  Most OC beaches are running about knee to waist high with the top combo breaks pulling chest high waves, with a few shoulder high sets.

At 10:24 a.m the tide climbs up to a 3.9 high and then drops to a 2.1 low at 2:50 this afternoon.  If you’re gonna get wet, definitely throw on at least a 3/2 full with the water temp on the chilly side and most breaks hanging between 57 and 62 degrees.

Have fun out there!!
