whale.jpgThe Laguna Beach Film Society is presenting a free public screening of “The Whale Rider” beneath the stars on Saturday.

LBFS advises people to bring picnic dinners, beach chairs, family, friends and good summer vibes to the presentation in Lang Park at 8 p.m.

The New Zealand film tells the tale of a young Maori girl who fights to fulfill the destiny of her culture.  Her grandfather refuses to recognize that she has special gifts that could bring back peace within the tribes and people of  this Maori Village.

Lang Park is located at the corner of Pacific Coast Highway and Wesley Drive in Laguna Beach. For more information, please call 949-494-8971, ext. 201 or www.lagunaartmuseum.org.
