Surf Report 6-21-08

June 21st, 2008, 9:00 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Saturday morning surf addicts.  Well we’ve got plenty of waves, but we’re lacking in the shape department.  It’s mostly clean, but some spots are seeing a light texture due to the minor southeast wind.  We’ve got a pretty good dose of south swell in the water.  That recipe is making for some fast mostly walled lines, with a few makeable corners.

Your best bet is probably a point or a reef.  Most OC beaches are running about waist to shoulder high with the top south facing spots pulling head high waves with a few inconsistent overhead sets.

At 6:06 a.m the tide dropped to a negative 0.5 low which still has some spots needing water.  The tide then pushes back up to a 3.6 high at 12:53 this afternoon.  If you’re gonna get wet, that water temps feeling nice, so throw on a spring suit with it averaging at most spots between 65 and 69 degrees.

Get on it!!
