The greatest volleyball in the sport’s history was accepted into another rarified air on Thursday night.
Karch Kiraly of San Clemente added another accolade to his collection when he was inducted into the United States Olympic Committee’s Olympic Hall of Fame at the USOC headquarters in Chicago.
Kiraly was inducted along with former NBA star David Robinson and boxer oscar De La Hoya.
Kiraly retired last fall after a nearly 30-year career on the hardcourt and sand, where he won three gold medals, plus MVP and All-American awards, and collegiate national championships. He now coaches St. Margaret’s High School team and is a broadcaster for AVP events on the Fox Net and NBC Sports.
“Karch truly is the gold standard for all Olympic athletes, not just beach volleyball,” said AVP commissioner and CEO Leonard Armato. “His dedication to the sport and ability to perform throughout the years has made him one of the greatest sportsmen of our generation. The AVP congratulates Karch on a remarkable career.”

Way to go! Great sportsman!
