The top ranked team of Phil Dalhausser and Todd Rogers bounced back nicely from their brief stumble in Atlanta.
The duo, regardless of last week’s loss, remained the most dominant men’s team on the AVP in years when they won the men’s final of the Hermosa Beach Open on Sunday beating number 2 seeds Casey Jennings/Matt Fuerbringer 21-14, 25-23. It was the pair’s third Hermosa title in a row.
Dalhausser and Rogers have now won 10 of the last 12 AVP events they’ve played and six of seven events this season.
“It’s an enjoyable place to play,” Rogers said. “The fans are real knowledgeable. You’ve got a real ocean there 20 feet away.”
Dalhausser/Rogers are already qualified to represent the U.S. in the Beijing Olympics this summer.
