There is the "gay" issue again, shame for bringing it up however I agree even if some here think it points and blames one group. It is an accurate view, as a female it doesn't get directed at me but I still have to witness it. These few men whom walk around and stalk and cruise. It is a shame these guys have to be so obviously disturbed and they do not care that this beach is now under attack and they are much to blame. I also know a few staright guys whom like to come on their days off but it is a hassle for them as they are like shark bait. The good people at trail 6 do everything to keep things clean and safe...... maybe the state should go after these guys or persons whom walk the bluffs, cruise the bushes and engage in strange acts behind the rocks. Has anyone seen any strange women in the brush!

The great state of California is smack in the middle of a severe budget crisis, unable to even keep all the DMVs or State Parks open, unable to repair roads, or pay for school supplies for children, or pay for teachers, or pay for lifeguards, or keep criminals in jail, or.........etc, etc, etc..........but ol' Ruth Coleman & company sure seem to have plenty of our hard earned tax payer money to spend on their illegal attempt at banning skinny dipping at San Onofre!

San Onofre is not just a "nude beach", it's California's irreplaceable clothing optional beach & surfing "Mecca", which has spawned and nurtured the quintessential Southern California Nude Beach Lifestyle of an entire generation - a lifestyle that can not be replaced. Surfers, volleyball players, frisbee players, sun worshippers, book worms, naturists and families - from infants to seniors - all friendly, good natured, law abiding citizens, enjoying the unmatched awesomeness of San Onofre....as God intended.

I'm 48 and I've been surfin' & beachin' sans clothing at San Onofre my entire adult life, and I can't stand the thought of losing the clothing optional area at San Onofre.

I am glad the courts have listened to the Naturist Action Committee's complaint and, hopefully, will stay this Park's directors idiotic decision to cite naturists after Labor Day. I was looking thru the blogs from way back in May and saw the argument in favor of the ban by citing citations being issued and workers finding condoms. Again, workers find condoms on every public beach, they are usually used during the night hours. Naturists do an unusally good job of policing their own beaches. Molestors and perverts can be found at any public place. If we follow this director's logic, we should shut down every public beach and park. Don't punish the people who are minding their own business. Black's Beach was legally nude about thirty years ago while Pete Wilson was mayor of San Diego and it was noted that the crime rate was much lower there than on textile beaches. Leave San Onofre alone and designate specific areas at ALL beaches for clothing optional use.

I have been going to this beach the last 4 years I am outraged with what the state is doing, In fact this past weekend my wife and I tried to go to trail 6 and the Police would not let us drive past #1 so we left. I am sure they are doing this to make # 6 not excess able. If this is being done because there are some people in the public upset they don't have to visit trail 6 there are lots of other beaches.

The State Parks Director has agreed to NOT ticket nudists until after Labor Day. Go enjoy the beach while it lasts.

Also, the issue of banning nudity at a long standing naturist area like San Onofre, which has been one of the nation's premier clothing optional beaches for 30 years, should be a HUGE red flag for anybody who enjoys the privilege of going nude at the beach. If these meddling politicians manage to ban nudity at San Onofre, the sky's the limit, and you can fully expect a rash of nudity banning around the nation.

You'd be more than wise to visit the friendsofsanonofre.org website to find out how you can contact the proper politicians to voice your support of continued naturism at San Onofre State Beach. Hurry, the preliminary court hearing is Aug 20, 2008.

See you at the beach!

We're losing our freedom because we took it for granted. Now, we must not only fight this closure, but also work for legislation that designates specific beaches as for nude use. Included in the legislation must be the stipulation that these beaches will receive the same level of protection and service that clothed beaches receive.
