The World’s Top amateur surfers are all showing up in France this week for the start of the International Surfing Association’s 2008 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.  Nearly 300 competitors from 28 countries are taking part in the big event on France’s southwest coast.  Last years ISA World Championship in Costa De Caparica, Portugal Spain was won by Team Australia.  This year is the first time since 1992 that the prestigious contest has taken place in France.  Some of the best amateur surfers from Orange County representing Team USA include, Newport Beach’s Andrew Doheny, San Clemente’s Kolohe Andino and Santa Ana’s Courtney Conlogue.  All the action kicks off on  Saturday May 24th.  For more info. go to isasurf.org.
