Surf Report 5-16-08

May 16th, 2008, 7:00 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Friday morning surf addicts.  Well it’s looking very marginal out there.  So don’t make it a priority to paddle.  The surfs on the small side and we’re already seeing a moderate south southwest wind which is putting some bump on it at many spots.

We’ve got a continued mix of fading south southwest swell and a tad of west northwest energy.  That recipe is making for some pretty soft crumbly lines, with a few fun ones.  Most OC beache are running about knee to waist high with the top combo breaks pulling stomach high waves, with a few chest high sets.

At 8:17 a.m the tide pushes up to a 3.7 high and then drops to a 1.4 low at 1:33 this afternoon.  If you’re gonna get wet you can definitely throw on a 3/2 full with the water temp hanging between 60 and 62 degrees.

Good luck out there!!
