Big wave surfer Parsons becomes a dad

May 13th, 2008, 11:32 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Shawn Price

As I’m looking at the official announcement for July’s Surfers Hall of Fame inductions, it’s obvious Mike Parsons is having a really good year.

San clemente big wave surfer “Snips” will be putting his hand and foot prints into the cement in front of Huntington Surf and Sport along with buddy and tow-in partner Brad Gerlach, Surfline’s Sean Collins and former pro and current ASP President Wayne “Rabbit” Bartholomew on July 25th.

After that, and winning the XXL for surfing a world record wave, what could top it? How about becoming a dad.

Mike Parsons and his wife, pro bodyboarder Tara ushered in Snips 2.0, err, I mean Grant Liam Parsons at 5:39 p.m. Thursday at Mission Hospital. The 7-pound, 3-ounce bouncing baby surfer is the couple’s first child.

Please offer your warm congratulations to Mike and Tara.
