
Chris Ward, Taylor Knox and Carissa Moore will be some of the feature attractions at next week’s Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro.
With former winner C.J. Hobgood dropping out, San Clemente’s Ward and Knox, of Carlsbad, will be the top seeds in the event. Cory and Shea Lopez of Florida will also be on hand.
The former Surfbout event has always been an attraction to top name surfers drawn by the chance to surf at the mainland’s best spot.
Teen phenom Carissa Moore of Hawaii will compete in the men’s competition and current WQS no. 1 Patrick Gudauskas and 2006 Macy’s Trifecta champ Nate yeomans, both of San Clemente will be fighting for QS points along with Huntington Beach’s Brett simpson.
This year’s prize purse is $80,000. The Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro is April 29 to May 3.
