
The ASP World Qualifying Series 4-Star 6.0 Lowers Pro and the Oakley Pro Junior are just a little over a week from getting underway. 192 of the world’s best pro surfers and 32 of the world’s hottest amateurs will be taking over Lower Trestles from April 29th to May 3rd, 2008. Some of the top talent competing in the pros include, World Championship Tour rippers Taylor Knox and San Clemente’s Chris Ward, along with current WQS points leader Patrick Gudauskas who’s a local favorite. Some of the notable names likely to do some damage in the amateur event include, Ventura’s Cory Arambide and Florida’s Adam Wickwire. Oakley wild card spots go to South Africa’s Shaun Jobert and Hawaii’s Sebastian Zeitz. 6.0 Lowers Pro wildcard spots go to the events only female surfer Carissa Moore and Evan Geiselman who will both be seeded in the Round of 64, and Koa Smith who will debut in the Round of 96.
