Surf Report 4-17-08

April 17th, 2008, 6:48 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Thursday morning surf addicts. Well it’s finally clean and glassy, but now the surf is small. Yep it’s time to start praying for some waves. We’ve got some minor leftover northwest windswell and a touch of southwest energy.

That recipe is making for some soft peaky lines, with a few workable sections at some of the better beachbreaks.  Most OC beaches are running about knee to waist high with the top spots pulling stomach high waves with the occasional chest high set.

At 8:21 a.m the tide climbs up to a 4.5 high which will have some spots a little swamped mid morning.  Your best bet once that tide turns around eventually dropping to a 0.4 low at 2:21 this afternoon.  If you’re gonna grab a grovel session, throw  on the 4/3 full with the water temp hanging between 56 and 58 degrees.

Good luck out there!!
