SCOPING THE SLOPES ON TUESDAY

Well spring break is about to kick into high gear. So you can be sure the local mountain resorts are going to be a hot spot.

Bear Mountain and Snow Summit have excellent coverage on the open runs, with an 18 to 36 inch base.  The surface is mostly machine groomed hard pack, that’ll soften and turn slushy in the afternoon.  Both resorts are operating a total of 26 lifts.

Mountain High has the west resort open for boarding and skiing.  They’re checking in with a 1 to 2 foot base, with spring conditions, and up to 8 lifts.

Mt. Baldy is sitting on an 18 to 36 inch base, with machine groomed spring conditions, and 3 lifts in operation.

Mammoth Mountain has an 8 to 10 foot base.  They’ve got a combination of machine groomed spring conditions, with a few obstacles, and 24 lifts.

Load up the gear and get up there!!
