Stop number 6 of the 2007/2008 No Fear Koastal Kaos California Series took place last weekend in Carlsbad. The Pro-am event at Ponto Jetty got underway on Saturday with the majority of the pro and a few amateur heats. The surf started out pretty good, in the 3 to 5 foot range, but diminished, with the conditions deteriorating throughout the day. Meanwhile, on Sunday for the finals, conditions were a bit smaller, but still fairly contestable. Taking the win in the Open Men’s division was Hawaii transplant Macy Mullen, who won $500.o0 for first. Second was Brazilian Marcelo Cathcart, third Scott Young, and finishing fourth was Willie Safreed. For more contest highlights go to www.koastalkaos.com.
