Surf Report 2-9-08

February 9th, 2008, 8:15 am · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Good Saturday morning surf addicts…Well if you’re a grom, then get out there.  Yep it’s pretty micro, in this neck of the woods.  It’s clean and glassy, with a tiny mix of residual northwest energy and a touch of southwest swell.

That recipe is making for some weak crumbly dribblers, with a few fun ones, if you’re on a log or maybe a fish.  Most OC beaches are running about knee high with the top spots pulling thigh to waist high waves, with maybe an occasional stomach high set.

At ten o five this morning the tide climbs up to a 5.3 high, which will shut off some spots mid morning.  The tide then drains out to a negative 0.3 low at four thirty nine this afternoon.  If you’re gonna grab a grovel session, the 4/3 full will do the job, with the water temp hanging between 56 and 57 degrees.

Good luck!!
