Long Beach “Breakwater Bash”

November 13th, 2007, 8:12 pm · Post a Comment · posted by Jeff Malanca, contributing writer

Surfrider Foundation’s Long Beach Chapter and Surfline’s Sean Collins are joining forces with hopes of reconfiguring a portion of the Long Beach Breakwater.  Eliminating a stretch of the big boulders would allow waves to break in a 2.5 mile area, like they did many years ago.   How insane would that be?   So with that in mind…this Thursday November 15, at 7 p.m there’s an event to raise funds and help educate the public about the importance of the potential project.  The event takes place at Smooth’s Sports Grille, located at 144 Pine Ave. in Long Beach.  There will also be a silent auction and a raffle with plenty of surf goods.  For more info. go to www.surfrider.org
