The ASP World Qualifying Series is coming to Newport Beach next week. The Newport Beach Pro, a 2 star WQS event takes place at the 56th street jetty. Also happening at the same spot, is the Oakley Pro Junior, and the 19th annual Newport Beach Surf Championships which is an amateur event. The action all starts on Tuesday September 18 and runs through Sunday the 23rd. The WQS event has a combined purse of $25-thousand dollars, while the pro junior has 10-thousand up for grabs.
